This is Justin. He is the inspiration for Justin’s Trust. Chrissi May and her veterinary surgeon husband Chris, found him in Bulgaria abandoned in the middle of nowhere, tied up and left to starve to death with no chance to fend for himself. Rack thin, with sores on his skin and his collar cutting through his neck, the heavy snowfalls of winter were just around the corner and his tragic and untimely end seemed inevitable. Justin was lucky, he has been rescued to a loving home in the UK with Chrissi and Chris and their three other dogs.

Justin is one of many dogs in Bulgaria and other emerging EU countries where there are large stray abandoned and sometimes mistreated dog populations with no organised national dog rescue charities like those in the UK to help. Chrissi and Chris have set up Justin’s Trust for Dogs in Europe to aid these dogs. Justin's Trust aims to establish rescue centres in Bulgaria and other emerging EU countries to offer a lifeline to the neediest dogs like Justin. Justin’s Trust will also collaborate with other charities to improve canine welfare in these countries.
